What is IPPS-A?

IPPS-A is a web-based Human Resources (HR) management system that will serve as the Army’s one-stop-shop for all personnel and pay management needs. Why is IPPS-A Important?

The current Army personnel and pay system has several shortcomings that IPPS-A aims to address.

  1. The Army has multiple, fragmented HR databases, resulting in data silos, duplication, and inconsistency. IPPS-A will integrate these databases into a single source of truth, reducing errors and redundancies.

IPPS-A is being implemented in phases, starting with selected states and units in 2020 and gradually expanding to the entire Army by 2022. Soldiers and civilian employees must undergo a CAC-enabled user authentication process to access IPPS-A, ensuring security and privacy.
